June Workshop · Load-Shedding for Cluttered Lives

My friends,

There are times when life just feels like too much — too many responsibilities, too many moving parts, too many expectations. It can leave us stretched thin, or even feeling like we’re failing just by trying to keep up.

In those moments, our instinct might be to push harder. But what if the more powerful move is to let go?

In this month’s Fearless Living Academy workshop, I’ve invited writer and engineer Beth Adele Long to guide us through something she calls load-shedding — a framework for lightening the load when things feel too full.

Beth will walk us through four key strategies you can use when you’re in overload — and just as important, how to deal with the resistance that shows up when it’s time to release something.

Here’s what we’ll explore together:

  • The difference between overload and overwhelm
  • The art of saying no (even after a yes)
  • The strategic power of moving deadlines
  • The liberation of changing expectations
  • The strength in asking for help

The first half will be focused on teaching and tools. In the second half, Beth will offer live coaching to help you apply the framework to your own situation. Bring your own story of “too much” — this is a space where it’s welcome.

Join us on Wednesday, June 18 at 11 am Pacific / 2 pm Eastern for this 90-minute session. I think you’ll leave with a clearer sense of what to release, and how to move forward with more calm and resilience.

with gratitude,
Leo

I’ve talked with dozens and dozens of people about what they want to change most in their lives … and the most common answer is something along the lines of, “Get better at taking action on the things I’m avoiding.” When we have resistance, we tend to put things off — call it fear, procrastination, or avoidance, we all do it somewhere in our lives. That’s not a problem, but if we can get better at facing the things we’re avoiding, our lives can start to transform. We can start to tackle the...

Some of you, like me, are entrepreneurs or business leaders … and perhaps you’re ready to take your business to the next level. But sometimes, it can feel like you’re butting your head against a wall — no matter how hard you work, you’re not making a ton of progress. It can also feel like there’s not enough time in the day to do everything. If you could add 5 more hours in each day, or clone yourself, things would be much better. So how do you move past this plateau? What got you here won’t...

Many times, we find a cool productivity system in a book or an online content creator … then we get excited about it and try to implement it. But more often than most people realize, the system fails. Most people will think it’s because there’s something wrong with them — they failed to be disciplined about it. But that’s not it. Productivity systems fail because they’re not a good fit for us. And because we don’t know how to put them into action in a way that sets us up for success. In our...
